After a short time away to re-group, the ‘In a Day’ series is BACK!

We resume our journey around the world, spending a day with mobile photographers and seeing the world through their eyes.  Our last stop was in sunny California with Allison Moore and now we travel on to Kentucky, USA.

Over the last year, I have gotten to know Anna through working with her here on Juxt and I have to say, she is one of the most warmest, kindest peoples, I have had the pleasure of knowing via the internet.  I was so pleased when she agreed to be part of this series so I could  share with you how lovely she truly is.

So I hope you enjoy spending a day in the wonderful company of the lovely Anna Cox.

Coffee

Silversun Pickups are playing, the suns coming up. I’m drinking my allotted 8 ounces of French roast in a very fancy transformers coffee cup, Bumblebee to be exact. I take mental stock of my day. It’s a day like any other- breakfast for the boys, laundry, nursing, Juxt stuff. I mentally tick off all the things I need to do before I wake my 9 year old for school. He’s a bear when he wakes up. I always dread waking him. My 8 month old, on the other hand, wakes ready to take on the day one puddle of drool at a time.

Testing their barkers

While I drink my coffee my Danes check on the neighbours and make sure their barkers still work. They do. Unfortunately. I do eventually wake the sleeping bear and even tossed some breakfast near the mouth of his cave before I shoo him off to school.

Neighbourhood watch

That leaves the drool monster and his mandatory neighborhood watch.  Basically, he’s a nosy little fella. Much of my morning is spent building towers of blocks and singing silly songs.

Photo walk with Crystal

Lunch brings a special treat. A friend from out of town is coming in to eat and shoot downtown Versailles with me.  Crystal (@faithmichael) is hilarious and just what I need to break the monotony of the week. It’s so easy to get discouraged and lonely having a small child. I, of course, wouldn’t trade him for anything but the fact remains that having a wee one changes your lifestyle drastically.

View at Melissa’s

Crystal and I eat at a cute place called Melissa’s that has the most amazing bread pudding. I am pretty sure there is nothing better. Anywhere. In the history of ever. After shooting, its off to carline, the kiddos, and a folder full of homework.

Last photo for the deal

Nights are laid back. We work on J’s homework and hang out as a family. Nothing exotic or crazy just sweet family time. And once all my boys are asleep, 4 legged ones included, I finally have time to breathe.

Oh. And fold laundry.
