I am endlessly fascinated with people and people watching and thought it would be fun to see a snapshot of life for one day as seen through the lens of different people from all over the world and from all walks of life.

This week, we leave behind Louise on the south coast of England and head up north to spend a day with Juxter Graham Preston. Take a walk in his shoes for the day and see how things look through the lens of his iPhone.

The last Saturday of the Christmas holidays, I chose to document my family’s visit to the seaside. We had winter sunshine, spent the afternoon fossil hunting and ended the day with fish and chips. A really special day.
“Why are you taking photos of the fluffy bath mat?” says Buster.
“How come I can hear my cat talking?” thinks Graham.
Hand on heart, I can say I have never ever used an electric shaver point. I never really understood why anyone would want a mirror with built in light fittings either.
We found Sponge Bob in the street. You can never leave a soft toy behind! – so he now lives on our kitchen window ledge.
If you happen across an empty kitchen work surface – you can guarantee it won’t stay empty for long.
Preparation is everything. We have sandwiches – coins for the seafront amusement arcades – and wellies for the beach.
After two hours in the car we arrive at the seaside. Sandsend is situated on the North East Coast of England, just a few miles north of Whitby.
This part of the coast is really quiet at this time of the year. When the tide moves out it exposes some fantastic polished rock pools.
As the sun began to set, we headed back down the coast to Whitby. In search of fish and chips and a visit to the amusement arcades.
It’s easy to forget that this is a working fishing port when Whitby’s tiny streets are full of visiting tourists.
At the end of this wonderful stolen day we head back home with our car boot full of pebbles, fossils and sandy boots.
