I am endlessly fascinated with people and people watching and thought it would be fun to see a snapshot of life for one day as seen through the lens of different people from all over the world and from all walks of life.

This a series documenting  mobile photographers in a day’.

I’ll aim to post a new series of photos from a different photographer every other week and you can follow all the photographers taking part in the series >>Here.

This week, we leave behind BP in Seattle and head back to Europe to spend a day with David Crunelle in Brussels, Belgium.

Whilst searching through the #inaday_juxt tag on Instagram, I found David and his incredible creativity.  I was really pleased he agreed to let us spend a day with him.  I think you’ll love how his day went and I hope you will find him as inspiring as I do. Take a walk in his shoes for the day and see how things look through the lens of his iPhone.

The limitless amount of opportunities available to us everywhere, all the time, pushes me to get involved into mobile photography. But still, I consider this more as graphic design than photography.

98,2% of my photos are taken on my way to work, or inside the office. So as an incredibly exciting challenge, I always take the same path. When doing so, your brain has to adapt itself into seeing always the same things differently. Otherwise, it completely turns off.

I trade hours of my life for money in the most boring working environment ever. Boring office, boring work, boring perspective.

Even the view from the window offers a wide landscape over more boring depressed people.  In such environment, best escape is abstract, by applying theories and rules from Masters of graphic design and/or photography : Klutsis, Rochenko, Senkin, Kulagina, Moholy-Nagy, Lissitzky, etc

Coffee is my best colleague. Never disappointed me as much as the others. So as a second exciting daily challenge, I try to multiply shots of the same object, in its simplest representation, without tricks or decorations. On a daily basis, to practice angles around the same boring object gives me this professional focused and serious appearance that all my colleagues dream to reach.

Once installed in such depressing place, and refuelled with coffee, the funniest things that will save me from jumping out of the first unlocked window are office supplies.

Welcome to Stapletown, a place where everybody is happy by default

“Following the path of the greatest visionaries of our times, our great Leader’s only purpose is expansion of a city build as the image of its proud citizens. Strong, robust, modern and shiny.  Our minds fly freely through buildings of common acceptance and recognition, in a peaceful and quiet acceptance, maximizing stapling emancipation. Stapletown is more than a utopia, it’s a way of living, a philosophy, and we should all thank our great Leader for that.  Thank you, great Leader!”

Then it’s lunch time so I forget everything.

The afternoon is as much depressing as the morning, minus the office supplies fun extravaganza.

Once back from job #1, I can start job #2, which is graphic design for my own company.

The work environment is certainly more bearable, and the content gives me more freedom. I also privately spend quality time with the most important thing in my life: pizza.

Once the design work is completed, usually I spend an hour or two to do administrative work and accounting. If there is time before passing out, I can work on personal graphic projects or go drinking with friends to celebrate the lost meaning of life.
